Cherry & White Chocolate Tart
Perfect cherry tart to enjoy with your family and friends 🍒
Ingredients:
- 230g All Purpose flour
- 135g cold butter
- half a cup of icing sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg yolk
For the tart filling:
- 100g White Chocolate
- Cherries in jelly ( I have used the brand All Nutrition however you can also use fresh cherries)
- 1 or 2 jelly sachets raspberry flavour
Recipe:
1. Start by adding flour, salt, icing sugar and butter into a big bowl. Combine the ingredients together by crumbling the mixture using your fingers. When the dough is crumbled, add an egg and kneed the dough for a moment until everything comes together.
2. Wrap the dough in cling film and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes. After this time take the dough out, sprinkle the surface with some flower and roll it out.
3. Use a little bit of butter on the sides and the bottom of the tin to ensure that the dough does not stick. Line the tin with parchment paper and place the dough in a tart tin, filling up the sides and the bottom.
4. Set your oven to 190 degrees C/ Gas Mark 5. Press an aluminium foil tightly against the crust, covering the edges to prevent them from burning. Fill with pie weights or dry rice to prevent the tart from growing. Bake for about 20-25 minutes.
5. Take out the tart and leave it on a wire rack to cool down for about 10 minutes. Follow the instruction on the jelly sachets and let it cool down as well.
6. Melt the white chocolate and set it aside for a moment to settle.
7. Spread the cherries as a first layer of the tart, next drizzle the melted chocolate on top of the cherries. And lastly, pour the jelly mixture on top. Place your tart in the fridge for about 4-5 hours for the jelly to set.
* ENJOY!!*
